Amber-Rose Howard, 31, is a self-described poet, writer and organizer. Over the summer between her freshman and sophomore year of college, she served 104 days in a county jail. She continued college under supervised work release. Interrupting her participation in competitive debate, she was ordered to spend her time rolling boulders up hills.
